| Application |
The surface should be dimensionally stable, sound, and clean. Free from laitance, grease, and dust. There should be no blooms or crack formations. Residues from grease or soap can be removed with Alfix Deep Cleaner.
Apply Alfix Primer to the surface with large brush or roller to full coverage.
Rendering, brickwork, concrete, light-weight concrete, aerated concrete, and cement-based levelling compounds should be primed with Primer diluted with water 1:1.
Plywood, gypsum plaster, and anhydrite floors should be primed with 2 applications. Apply first coat diluted with water 1:3, apply second coat undiluted.
Paperfaced plasterboards and fibre-reinforced plasterboards should be primed undiluted to full coverage.
If boards are foil-backed, apply only 1 coat of primer diluted 1:3 with water. Foil-backing eliminates any further need for a waterproof membrane.
For exterior applications, dilute primer 1:6 with water.
| Tanking |
Areas subjected to frequent or high water exposure, so-called wet zones, require subsequent waterproofing with a sealing membrane: Alfix 1K Sealing Membrane or Alfix 2K Sealing Membrane
| Cleaning |
Clean residues from tools with water before the primer sets. Once dried, primer can be removed mechanically or with solvent.
Wear protective gloves during work since the product tends to stick to the skin.
